SEMINARS & FOCUS GROUPS

Its all too easy to listen to all the doom and gloom out there and to crawl back in to bed feeling helpless to do anything to survive the current financial situation. But if you do this, if you align yourself with the media and the pessimistic public, you end up slotting in with them and you create your own downfall.

Here at Randall & Associates Ltd, we're feeling positive about life (you've got to, look at the alternative!). Each and every day, we all see so many interesting people who are doing so many interesting things - we just can't help but to be positive! Not only that, we're also excited - we are part of an amazing industry out there, one that has so much potential for growth.

With this in mind, we've decided to call together as many of you as possible - we're only taking in those who want to grow, who want to join us in moving our province and our country (as well as ourselves) forward. We intend to run regular seminars and focus groups where we can all get together and brainstorm, inform, support, drink, eat, enjoy each other's company etc., but at the same time, move ourselves forward. I'm sure you've all seen the images of a small lump of snow rolling down a hill gathering more snow as it goes until it has the power and the size to knock out large buildings - well, that's what we're planning. Don't worry if you don't live in Palmerston North, we're planning on taking these meetings around to other areas - just let us know where you are and we'll try to get there.

This get-together will cover a bit of what we have been doing (and introduce you personally to one of our exciting projects), an introduction to FEA (finite element analysis), anything new in the rules & regulations that happens to pop up, and a question and answer session. We hope to have time to take a tour around the room so you can tell us any interesting projects you have on the go at the moment too.

SEMINAR REPORT.

11th December, 2008. Christmas function/office warming/first official seminar

Over 40 people attended our first seminar held in our Palmerston North office on 11th December. After a meet and greet, with nibbles supplied by Randall & Associates Ltd's favourite cafe, Cafe Brie, Nigel gave a 30 minute presentation showing a general overview of what we do here at Randall & Associates. He covered many aspects of our work including road transport, industrial, & safety frame design, together with an explanation of the design process and a short introduction to finite element analysis. The evening finished with more liquid refreshments and a barbecue expertly cooked by Nick & Hayden. Attendees were given a goodie bag with some of our brochures, brochures and pamphlets from some of our clients and friends, some chocolate Santa's candy canes, shortbread & Christmas mince pies. They were also offered Christmas cake (see what you missed!!)

Thanks to all those attending - feedback forms returned so far indicate you really enjoyed the evening and want more. Remember if you haven't returned your feedback form, please do as it enables us to plan more information evenings.
